An aromatic medley introduces the 11th vintage of our signature wine. Aromas of cassis are accentuated by grace-notes of potpourri, cedar, white peppercorn and elements of caramel and baking spices. A smooth entry reveals a graceful, structured wine of medium size and weight. On the palate, red currant and black fruit seamlessly re-state the wine’s aromas. Soft tannins sculpt and shape the wine into an elegant and ethereal whole that lingers on the finish. This vintage of Elivette will continue to develop and evolve over time.

The cool, late 2010 growing season gave our red Bordeaux varieties bright and pure varietal character. If history is a guide, we expect the wines to be long-lived and more Bordeaux-like than Californian in profile. The Spring Mountain Vineyard experienced a third year of very low yields. The red Bordeaux varieties that comprise the Elivette and Cabernet Sauvignon labels averaged about 1 ton per acre. Normal yield is approximately 1.5 to 2 tons per acre.
