The 2021 Spring Mountain Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc leads with aromas of citrus, melon, and subtle oak. The nose is subdued when first poured but opens with time to reveal fresh lemon custard and orange crème. The palate is bright and crisp with mandarin and grapefruit. Primary fermentation in French oak barrels gives the mid-palate plenty of complexity and weight, balanced by a fresh minerality indicative of our Sauvignon Blanc. The wine continues with a mouth-watering character and a lingering finish that draws you back for another taste.

Additional Notes

The 2021 vintage was a welcome relief after a difficult 2020 vintage. The second year of drought conditions persisted throughout spring with very little rainfall to nourish the vines. This dry spring resulted in a reduced crop load and lower vigor across most of the vineyard blocks on the estate. Vines had lighter clusters and some of the smallest berries we’ve experienced in many years. This translates into a higher skin-to-juice ratio, allowing for very concentrated and intense wines which will make the 2021 vintage a stellar vintage for years to come.
